Sorry to hear about the G20's demise. I liked the "Pontiac" grille in particular.
Your rims are intriguing.

Thomas, Where did you get that Alclad2 Chrome?? Cor. Cor, Alclad2 is pretty hard to find in NL, but the Luchtvaarthobbyshop in Aalsmeer ( www.aviationmegastore.com), usually has it in stock. They carry the metallics and the prismatic paints. Eric

Thanks Eric. I already asked for information in the US but when it's available I don't have to do too much work.

I like the comparison shots a lot. I don't think I ever realized just how big those old Macks are.
The wheelcamber seems to be a teensy weensy bit off...

Lookin' good Thomas! Keep us up to date with the photos.
Are the red wheels castings you made?

Thomas!
That looks great! Do you have any idea what type of bed will be on that truck?

The wheels where only shortly mounted because of the picture. They will be glued to the rest after painting or I change them with some pneumatic wheels if I find some that look like the real one used on Mack ACs. The red wheels are from the aerial ladder kit. The parts I casted are the chains and some parts of the jackshafts. The chains are shortened versions of the original Jordan chains. The truck will get a fifth wheel to pull an old lowboy.

Great stuff Thomas, I find what you did to the frame to "beef it up" interesting. What did you use for the rivets heads? I'm also anxious to see where you go with the lowboy.

The rivet heads are .020" hex rods made by Plastruct. I drilled 0,5mm holes into the frame, put the hex rod into it. Then I glued .010" Evergreen profils next to the rivets. After that I cut the rivets down so thtat they where in one level with the Evergreen profil. The last step was removing the Evergreen profil. The vintage lowboy will be a lot of fun to built especially because they have a lot of rivet heads Any idea where I can get small solid rubber tires like they where used on old lowboys.
