Lee, Some time ago I tried printing on .010 thick styrene sheet on my H.P. ink jet printer. It fed through the printer fine but the ink never dried. I guess it needs something absorbant. Don't know how a laser printer would work, but .005 or .010 thick plastic sheet should feed o.k.

Jim, take care feed a laser printer with styrene sheets or plastic foil. I know a guy who tried this and demolished the laser printer. DonĀ“t know how they work exactly, but they do it with high temperature, which will damage first the sheet and the liquid plastic sheet than the printer. I heard that there are special foils and maybe special laser printer which are able to print on plastic sheets, but read carefully the instructions before.... good luck nick ingmar

Ah yes, heat and plastic don't mix. ;D Sorry I suggested it. Skunk had a better idea anyway.

Styrene's melting point is far too low for the fuser section of a laser printer or conventional copier and it is not porous enough to allow absorption of most inkjet inks. What you need is a synthetic sheet called Teslin. Teslin works in ink jet or laser printers and is very stable. I have used it to print signs for model structures and it works like a champ. Cuts beautifully and is easily glued with cyanoacrylate adhesives. www.ppg.com/chm_teslin/whatsteslin/whatis.htmThe trick is matching the sheet to the printer. The sheet recommended for laser printers is not suitable for inkjet printers and vice versa. Teslin is available from specialty paper houses and it's very expensive to buy, like US$1.60 to US$2.40/sheet in packages of 25 sheets. But sometimes a local paper supplier will give you a couple of sample sheets. If you've got a friend in the printing business, have them ask their paper dealers about Teslin. There are also transparency sheets designed for laser printers and inkjet printers. Once again, care should be taken to obtain the proper type. Bill C.

Most interesting piece of information. Thank you Bill. I remember buying some 1/87 building signs that were printed on what I thought was thin plastic. They must have been printed on Teslin

The Toyota Landcruiser FJ-45 pick-up and troopie look awesome! Please let us know if you create resin copies of them. At present I own three different 1:1 FJ Landcruisers, but no pick-up or troopie. Joe

Looks nice, Michael.
I assume the kit consists of the entire body? Are Monaco or Liechtenstein license plates included?

Skunk,
you'll need a 57 as a donor model for the hood and the trunklid and probably the grille, lights and glazing. Still a very interesting kit though, I never thought there'd be a model of the 62 so I am definately going to get me one.

I can understand the part about the grill, lights and glazing but why you need to cut the original 57 to get the hood and the trunklid ? why are they missing from this transkit? Regards

Hi, here is a Picture of an unpainted Maybach 62 To disassemble a Maybach 57 you have to remove the hood and the trunklid. We left them away to reduce possible errors in the casting. We sell the Maybach 62 Body for 10,- Euros plus shipping. The Maybach 62 Landaulet will be also coming.

Well, I just put in a PM (on mo87) for a Maybach 62. I should really wait for the Landaulet, but, I am impatient. Now I just have to get myself a Maybach for parts. What's the gaudiest paintjob? Maybe a very light baby blue in two tone?
