Hi all, Here is a link to my current project, a 1955 Packard Caribbean convertible. There are two more photos following this one. pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/autorail87/detail?.dir=/defb&.dnm=75d2.jpg&.src=phAs has been mentioned before, the Gregs Garage Packard is a little small. The model has a wheelbase of 1.25", which will need to be stretched to 1.46". Prototype dimensions are wheelbase 127 inches, front track width 60 inches, rear track width 60.9 inches My original plan was to section styrene into the resin casting to enlarge length and width, and use only the windshield and interior from a Model Power 55 Chev Belair. While cutting the Belair I realized more could be used. The photos show last night's work.

Epoxying the front end to the body gave me new respect for those of you who create models. It looked straight until the glue set. Fortunately I was able to pop it off, and on the third attempt a pair of locator pins did the trick for aligning a solid dry fit and making a strong bond at the firewall. Next a bumper and hood scoops will be formed from styrene, then it will be primed. pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/autorail87/detail?.dir=defb&.dnm=e4efre2.jpg&.src=ph

That is why we got into casting. All that effort done and you wind up with just one model.

Believe me, the effort has made me think about casting, however I am thinking if this is not a good master for casting due to the attached windshield.

Not a problem. ;D Look at the woody pieces in the model listings under Cutter. There is a picture that shows the pieces, one being the whole front end and windshield. The windshield is so thin, you can almost see through it.

This weekend I have been modifiying an Anguplas Edsel for a less toy like appearance. The blue Edsel has the wheel arches reshaped and a wedge of styrene added to the rocker. It also has been converted to a two door . After final inspection it will go to the paint shop. This Edsel is being built in trade with another member. pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/autorail87/detail?.dir=/defb&.dnm=9db9re2.jpg

That hits me!! One of my biggest wishes is it to pimp a Anguplas Edsel! But they i have remorce me too much. I`m a fan of Edsel since i have seen all models together on a meeting. But on this day, i let my camera at home. It`s a shame
