Okay, Jack's Tips & Tech thread got me thinking about this, and this is done on many other messageboards, How about showing off your workbench and/or work area. I'll start: I recently had to relocate my operation, therefore I haven't quite put everything away. Obviously, I have way too many projects going on! Richard O.

Well here's my 1/87 scale workbench but I can't get my legs under the desk. So I have to settle for working at this bench.

I like this new thread. You have a lot of models on that bench Richard. Chester, your workbench has to be the neatest I have ever seen, mine is normally a wreck. I hope more people post photos of their work areas. My work area serves not only my 1/87th scale vehicles but also my HO scale model RR models. Jack

Cool idea. I normally work on 5-6 at a time, Gotta clean mine up..... How do you post a picture? KP.... Here's the way I post pictures, first I set up an account at photobucket, then I upload photos from my computer to photobucket by clicking the browse button, double clicking on the image and then hitting the upload button. When I want to add an image to my post I open both photobucket and 87th scale. In photobucket I highlight the IMG Code and hit the edit tab at the top of the page and the click on copy. Then I click back onto 87thscale and on the post and position the cursor where I want the image and then click the copy button from the edit tab. This sounds more complicated than it is.

It must be very nice to have a dedicated space for a nice, spacious workbench. Most all of the work that I have been doing lately has been on a folding table out in the garage. Cutter really was named after Jerry's kitchen pullout cutting board which is where he does all his work. At least he can have a hot cup of coffee when ever he wants.

I used to work on a bench under my train layout but I spent most of my time at the dining room table. After I spilled some solvent on the table and took the color out where I spilled it, my wife banned me from using the table. So I set up a "temporary" work table in the dining room. I refinished the table and all is OK.

I built my two biggest scratchbuiding projects on a pullout like Cutter's. I shared an apartment with my buddy for almost 10 years where I had a tiny oak kid's desk in my room. It had a small pullout and I would sit on the edge of my bed. I tried to make the best out of what I had at the time. These two trailers were done on that postage stamp work area-

Hmmm yes, I see how badly the models suffered for it Joe. Too bad. So now what's your excuse.

It is not where you work that counts, but what you are that makes the difference. Truly, and do mean truly beautiful works of art.

Dear All:
Well, I agree with the following: is the skill that counts. I do have a large space which could be avaliable for however, but as I tried to help Jack on three of his projects, I found out how much my hands do not help me and I was making damages in the process. So, I let Jack to carry on in project X or Y.

Hey, I'm a little late with this post. But here's my work bench, in my train room. This view shows part of my layout on the right side. And some of the old Railroad stuff, etc., that I've managed to collect over the years. This is clean, compared to the place sometimes!!! farm2.static.flickr.com/1384/1459865771_52c88a9783_b.jpgBest wishes, F. John

F. John,
I would have no problem living in that work room. How nice to have. Thanks for sharing.
