Dear All:

I got most of the final Motormax Fresh Cherries models, except the Dodge Diplomat (only the 1/24 scaled models are avaliable) and Honda Civic. Lately, I managed to get the Horizon, Le Baron Wagon (M body), Dodge Omni, Ford Granada (the Omni was also luck, because mostly are avaliable in 1/24 scale). Also purchased were the Aries and Reliant.

Due to the fact that Matchbox are doing prime models in tree inch, despite the Recession, their sales were up 22% this year. Their truck series (which were criticized here) are also best sellers, specially the Autocar Garbage truck; the Actros does not sell well. I appointed their Dodge Monaco - 1978 - as car of the year, and it is a best seller - I did not found any in the stores since June. Their 1971 Vista Cruiser also a missing item in the stores; I found one because I went to Target when it opened at 08:00 hours and I pretty sure that this one would go away quickly if I had not done that. Their Sahara Survivor is a modification of the Land Rover pick up; is even RHD and looks very good for a generic item. The Toyota Land Cruiser - 1968 - and Prius are also good sellers. Another great model of the year was the Mercury Marauder from Greenlight; so is their Crown Victoria with their moon-type hubcaps. One the best three inch Vickies in the market. And so are the M2s; their 1959 Cadillac 62 is just an wonderful item. Oh, and Minichamps (as Paul's Models) 1/64 are also a dream - their Porsche Racer has disk brake details - a first one for 1/64!!! So, I had a blast this year, literally.
I also got Matchbox Maserati racer in red, whose casting was introduced in 1958. I intend to get many of the older Matchboxes.

Matchbox also itroduced a line of bigger Convoy trucks (as were the Superkings, but they are not so big as the latter) and they are also selling good. For 2010, 1957 GMC pick up (in this year, most Manufacturers did the Chevy pick up), the Fisker Karma Hibrid sedan, Honda Insight.

From Mattel (Hot Wheels): 1967 and 2010 Shelby Mustang, Triumph TR6 racer, Malibu Station Wagon and V8 Chevrolet Vega, besides the AMC Javelin AMX (which is also made by Greenlight). And this year, their real models were made seriously, with very few customs. A lesson from Matchbox, perhaps? On their more expensive line, there is an Avanti, Tucker and Edsel.

And basically, that will be it. Great year for my two favorite scales, indeed!!

Dear All:

That Corvette body was made before, in the 1980's by Road Champs, and theirs is powered; it is also a very scarce item. It was sold under another brand than Road Champs, however. In this series, a Datsun 240 or 260 and a Camaro were also done and the Camaro was also offered as a Tonka item (if I remember well - and that was info from Bob Kelly - the Corvette was also sold as a Tonka).

I will grab the buses, naturally, the Corvette, el Camino and most of the FIATs. Magirus / FIAT/OM truck? Oh, I like that!!

Dear All:

This year bought me articles that I cherished very much and considered them models of the year. They are not, unfortunately, 1/87 models, so I will not comment on them. I got the Hondas and Ford Granada from Motormax and New Ray's Iveco trucks, plus a host of RPS and Red Line models and someone got rid of a ton of Rietze Buses, so I tell you, I had a blast on my favorite two scales. Now there a couple more a really want and thing will be perfect for 2009, modelwise.

Dear All:

Burbank House of Hobbies is selling the models from Bob Kelly on eBay, and these are disputed, let me tell you. I lost a Minix Trailer, Wiking (old, has no windows) tram and racing car, but won the the Wiking Airport Tractor and trailer. I also got Motormax Honda Civic and Accord from them, and liked these. From another dealer, the Ford Granada from the same Manufacturer (that is an ...-etc- ... to find; also got the 1/64 version of it, after losing another one even if I did a $25.00 bid on it!!). From the Los Angeles Auto Show (it was between December 04th to the 13th; I went there on the ninth, a little before another long drive) I found New Ray's Iveco truck, with Ferrari and Renault Racing Trailers.

Dear All:

Oh,that menas that only big conglomerates such as Mattel can really afford Ferrari's fees without problems..... I also got some of the Red Line models and they are worth their price, since they are better developed than the ones from Mattel.

Dear All:

I got some of the RPS items, and frankly, they are worth the money. Also support Vito's ideia: for vehicles that are not considered the cream of the crop, do them on a lesser detailed line. I bet the house that if RPS would do the Camry in this process - even in diecast - it would be a bestseller, as is Welly's 1/36 scale version of this car. I did not bought the latter on last November, and ever since I can not find it; delares have problems stocking it for long!

Also, when I could, I followed some of the discussions here (on the last ten months I been mostly in the road, and already put many miles on my Vic) on many motels, and do not want to add to it. I like the ideia that Ron and Ricko give feedbacks of their activities and of what can and can not be done.
